Parlauf Relays 2008

As the 2008 Track season approaches, we’re all getting back into the swing of things. For the athletes it means longer practices, harder practices, and getting pumped for the season. For the parents it means charging camera batteries and clearing those weekends and thursday afternoons to go visit track meets. For track it also means pre-season meets. Parlauf Relays is the first of two meets that a majority of our team will be attending. The Relays consist of one event. Runners form teams of five and relay 8 200m sprints each, totaling five miles.

This year we had a video camera at the event and were able to record some video footage of a few of the races. The Boys A Team has their entire race documented, while the Girls A and Boys B teams have partial clips of their races. Unfortunately due to battery problems (we forgot to fully charge it) the Boys B team video is lacking in content and the Girls B teams are absent all together. However, as a slight consolation prize, there are photos from the Girls B race.

p.s. Some advance warning, you may wish to turn down the volume a little bit while watching the videos, my mom does tend to yell fanatically and you may loose some hearing. Also, apologies for the camera shaking, it was the first time we have actually used the camera since we got it, and so my mom was just learning how to use and hold it, but just as her photography improved, this will with time.

EDIT: Thanks to Susan I fixed the link to the photos, so now you can see the Parlauf photos instead of the South Bay Cup photos.
