The Great Cow Run –  Cerritos Cross Country

Cross Country Families:

It was fantastic to see so many new faces at the Alumni race on Saturday!  What a great way to start off the season!  I hope that each and every athlete had a good time. For many of the kids, this is a race that they had been waiting all summer for, and for others, it may have come after only a few days of training…   Way to go to each of the 100 kids in the race… They all finished and did great!
Thank you to all the parents that come out to support these special high school kids.  For those of us that have been in the program for a while, we have witnessed how this program shapes these fine kids into very special athletes, students, and most of all great people!  This “team” is like no other in the school. These kids truly care about one another, and as parents of new athletes to the program, I hope that you are beginning to witness this transformation.

We have a very good group of parents as was evident at the alumni race. It was awesome to see so many parents and family members on the course cheering and ringing the kids along! I know that both my kids loved having the words of encouragement and cow bells along the course as they fought through the pain. Please continue to wear our school colors, and attend these races to support these kids who are giving everything they have to make you, their coaches ,and teammates proud!

It appears that this year is going to be a very good year for all these kids. On the same note, please continue to support the boosters club, so that we can continue to provide the best team and social environment possible for all of the athletes as they navigate through their high school years. Your encouragement to each athlete will do wonders.
