Wednesday October 23 & Saturday October 26

Wednesday:

Coach Bob organized for nutritionist Kerry Sharp to present to the athletes. After practice is finished around 5 pm, the athletes should meet in the media room. Kerry will present for approximately 35 minutes and will stay for questions. Parents are cordially invited as well.

Saturday:

Mt. Sac Invitational http://events.mtsac.edu/ccinvite/datesandtimes.htm

Update:

Please note that it is a long walk from the parking lot to the spots where you can see most of the races or where you can drop off the water and snacks at the team tent. I am planning to distribute the water bottles in different backpacks and bags so that it is easier to carry.

As this is one of the tougher courses to run and high temperatures are predicted, the course might change slightly. Your child will just need to listen carefully to Coach Bob’s instruction. PLEASE make sure your child drinks lots of water now and the next three days. Mt. Sac has some additional medical personnel at the racecourse stationed near the finish line.

The bus leaves at 6:00 am from school.  It looks like all athletes might have finished their races by 1 pm. All athletes must go on the bus to and back from the event, even if you are driving out as well. On Wednesday, feel free to look for a parent carpool partner! Details about parking and entrance fees are available on the Website. Bring cash!

Coach Bob will discuss the individual entrees with the athletes tomorrow. We will update the Website accordingly! Please keep checking http://new.runruhs.com/

Mt. Sac is a “must see” event – the world’s largest cross country invitational according to their website. There are several races on the course at the same time, dust flying, runners flying down a hill and then making a 90 degree turn … You have to see it to believe it. As always, please make sure to only drop snacks and water at the team tent and then leave the athlete area immediately.

According to the Mt. Sac Website Team Entries
