The Alumni aspect of the meet is to provide a specific date and time once a year for the former cross country runners who have graduated, to join in on the fun. Redondo Union is known for their rich traditions. This meet has become a RUHS X Country tradition and allows a type of annual reunion for alumni to meet the new teams and catch up with former teammates and coaches.

Support your athlete(s) and the Redondo Union Cross Country Team as they compete in their first race to kick off the 2010 Season.

We will also be grilling burgers as a fundraiser for the team. Carlos’ Special of the Day will be a Cheeseburger, chips and water – all for $5. The Booster Club will again be selling t-shirts, bowling shirts, cow-bells and stickers. All proceeds will go to support the team.

Don’t miss a great opportunity to mingle with the coaches and other families and to see an exciting race.

Monday-Wednesday Practice will be run by two graduating seniors who have been working out with our team all summer, Chloe Curtis and Michelle Pittman.  Chloe is the state champion in the 1600 meter and will be attending Washington this year and running on their team.  Michelle Pittman will be attending UCLA in the fall and also be running with the Bruins.  Practice on Thurday and Friday will be run by Kirsten Leetch (Bob’s wife) who is one of the coaches.  Practice each day will begin at 7:30AM as usual at Veteran’s Park and will get over about the same time as last week.  Coach Bob and I expect everyone to attend each day and continue the great progression and attitude that you have shown so far.

Some of you have emailed me that you are going on vacation.  Have a great time but work on keeping up with your push ups, sit ups and running. You should try to run between 45-60 minutes each day.

Cross Country Runners if you have not turned in your athletic clearance package or uniform order (new runners)  please make sure to get them turn in ASAP!

Athletic Clearance packets & transportation fee: Must be turned into the Athletic Secretary at the school office (not the coaches) and cleared in order to participate.

Uniforms are Mandatory:  New runners get your order turned into Susan Ryan or Coach Ferron ASAP! Returning runners, these are the same uniforms so you don’t need to order unless yours doesn’t fit anymore. Big Bear will once again host the RUHS Cross Country team as they prepare for the 2010 season. The PCCCI camp is located on Big Bear Lake and provides the team with a great environment to train as a team.

The cost is $310. Attached are the two requried forms for you to print and must be completed and submitted with your payment, so please take the steps to reserve your runner a spot for camp.
