This Saturday, March 26 our track team will be attending two different meets. Our distance runners will be competing at the Meet of Champions Distance Invitational at Azusa Pacific College. All other track athletes will be attending the Mustang Relays at Mira Costa HS.
Information for Mustang Relays: all athletes who are NOT distance runners.
There will not be a bus for this meet. All students should arrive at Mira Costa HS 75 minutes prior to their race and check in with Coach Kelley prior to checking in for their event. Coaches: Kelley, Lindquist, Dill, and Weintrab will be with the athletes competing at this meet. All athletes have been informed of the events that they will be competing in and whether or not their times or distance qualified them for this meet. The website will meet information and schedule: http://miracostatrack.org/mustang-relays/
Information for Meet of Champions at Asuza Pacific University: DISTANCE runners ONLY.
The buses for Azusa will leave the student parking lot on Diamond at 6:00 AM sharp. All athletes should be at the parking lot by 5:50 AM. Our first race is at 7:45 AM. Most distance runners will be competing in both the 800 and 1600, with a few varsity runners in the 3200. The website for all information concerning this meet is http://www.mocdistanceclassic.com/
The last event of this meet ends at 9:30 PM. Because of the long day for many runners, we are allowing students to leave after the completion of the afternoon session at 4:30 PM. Any student who wishes to leave with their parent or have permission to leave with another parent, must complete the attached form. At 4:30 PM, the Redondo runners who are not entered in the evening session will be allowed to leave if they sign out and turn in the form to Coach Ferron. We expect athletes to remain until the afternoon session is complete to support and cheer on their team members as they race. Please DO NOT send the form to Coach Ferron electronically. Each athlete will need to turn in the form and sign out at the time they will be leaving. (not before 4:30 PM). The link for this form is alternate-transportation
We do encourage athletes to remain for evening session as it is very competitive and exciting but understand if anyone chooses to leave at 4:30 as it is a long day! The bus back to Redondo will leave approximately 10:15 PM from the meet.
