Woodbridge Invitational Saturday

Woodbridge Cross Country Invitational at the Great Park in Irvine

Saturday, September 19th 2015

This is one of the largest XC meets in the United States and also one of the most exciting.

This meet also uses Chip Timing and we are looking for parent volunteers to help collect chips from athletes after each race and to organize chips in order. (All athletes will report to the Booster Club/Team tents to turn in chips so there is no hunting down of athletes). Contact Coach Ferron if you can help.

  • Buses will leave Redondo Union at 1:00 PM sharp
  • Athletes need to be at the bus in time to be loaded and ready to leave at 1:00 PM.
  • Buses will leave the Great Park at approximately 9:30-10:00 PM to head back to Redondo.
  • All athletes are to be dressed in uniforms and warm-ups
  • Bring water and Gatorade with you.
  • Please send money or a sack lunch with athletes so that they will be able to eat after their race is completed.  T-shirts will also be sold at this meet.

For the meet schedule click Woodbridge Schedule. Redondo is the GOLD DIVISION under Saturdays schedule (2nd column). Athletes will be racing in their respective division based on grade/level EXCEPT for athletes who be competing in the novice division based on race results from the Great Cow Invitational. Athletes will be informed at practice if they are racing in the novice race or their regular grade level race.

All vehicles that are not team buses (spectator, families, athletes traveling on own) MUST enter the Great Park from Trabuco Road. They will park on the run-ways and be shuttled to the meet.

The following info is from the meet directors who emphasize athletes should ride with team to ensure they will make it to their race in time to compete and warm-up properly.  Last year, many spectators missed their children’s race since they did not plan enough time to get to the meet.  This is why we are emphasizing that athletes should ride the bus to the meet.

Reminder: Any parent picking up or dropping off an athlete at the meet must have the DISTRICT FORM turned into the athletic office with both a copy of insurance and driver’s license. Also, the TEAM DRIVE YOUR KID FORM   must be completed and turned in to Coach Ferron.
