Redondo Nike Invitational 2020

Dear Parents and Athletes,

This Friday and Saturday our Redondo Nike Invitational will take place! Thank you so much for those who have volunteered to help make this meet a success. All athletes on the team have also been given a shift or two to help support the needs of this meet and to fit with the schedule of those athletes competing.

The time schedule for both field and running events and information about spectator admissions will be found on our meet website at the link below:

https://www.redondoinvitational.com/meet-info

Friday is our shot put, discus, f/s pole vault and distance relays. Those athletes who are competing on Friday have been informed of their events. Many athletes who are not competing, are doing their volunteer shift on Friday. It will be cool and windy so everyone should come dressed in layers and Redondo Gear. At the conclusion of the last race, those volunteering will help set up for Saturday’s all-day event.

On Saturday, the meet begins at 8:00 AM and continues the entire day. All athletes have been informed of the events they will be competing in. Not all athletes will be competing due to the high level of competition and marks not making the standard needed to compete. Most of the team has an assigned volunteer shift for Saturday.

For those f/s distance athletes who are running the 1600, their races will take place at West HS track. This allows us to be able to enter more athletes who then have a chance to compete! The girls will report to West at 7:00 am and their races begin at 8:00 AM. The boys will report to West at 8:00 AM and their races will begin approximately at 9:15 AM. All athletes competing at West will then head over to Redondo to enjoy the meet and work their volunteer shift.

Parking will be difficult so plan to arrive early so that you don’t miss an event or a volunteer shift. Besides the Diamond lot, there is additional parking by the softball field on Vincent, by the baseball field (look for the sign that points to RUHS Parking) and also over at Parras Middle School off of Prospect (backlot) and Lucia (school parking lot).

There will be a shuttle service available from 7 am to 1 pm for athletes and spectators going to and from RUHS and West HS.

Thank you again for your support of the Redondo Track program.
